Too much good food, but not too much good company
I spent my weekend in Chicago with two long-time friends. It's a central location for all of us to meet and a great place for retail and culinary therapy.I made the choice before I left that I would not obsess about eating healthy. Perhaps I should have rethought that decision. This year our weekend seemed to revolve around . . .
. . . Beignets |
Here is a quick list of the highlights of the weekend:
- Relaxing train ride and getting in a nap for once!
- Trying on Kate Spade shoes
- Coaxing my friend into buying Kate Spade shoes (she didn't need much convincing)
- Dinner at Karyn's on the Green--Making Vegan Sexy
- Followed by dessert at The Chocolate Bar at The Peninsula
- Drinks at the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building
- Breakfast at The Grand Luxe and a giant bowl of Beignets (groan)
Reality has slapped me in the face today. Work, training, kids, . . . the routine. Time to get some stuff done.
